Born out of a desire to get back to nature after long days at work in the city, the only way to unwind was playing around in our garden and getting our hands full of dirt. Through experimenting and research we discovered that we could grow delicious and organic Gourmet Oyster Mushrooms from recycled coffee waste grounds in our backyard in South East London.
For us that was a huge plus point, as it is estimated that globally 2 billion tons of coffee waste is produced every year. Only 1% ends up in your delicious cuppa and 99% of the coffee ends up in landfill. We try to redirect this waste by collecting the coffee waste from cafes all over London, on our daily commute back from work, and turn them into easy to use Grow-Your-Own Gourmet Mushroom Kits.
